Apps for Mac & web

Small tools I build because I want them myself: native Mac utilities in Swift, and web apps in React. Direct downloads for the desktop ones, live demos for the rest.

Shrinkly

Batch image compression, natively

Drop in a folder of images and get them back smaller. PNG, JPEG, WebP and AVIF, compressed three at a time through the TinyPNG API with live per-file progress. Resize, convert format and control metadata on the way through. Built entirely in Swift and SwiftUI, no third-party frameworks.

  • Drag & drop batches
  • Resize & convert
  • Metadata control
  • Quota tracking

ColorSnipper

Pixel-perfect colour picking, from the menu bar

Hit the global hotkey, magnify any pixel on screen, and click. The colour lands in your clipboard as HEX, RGB, HSL, a CSS variable, the nearest Tailwind token, or a plain colour name. Build palettes as you go and export them to CSS variables, JSON or a PNG swatch.

  • Magnifier loupe
  • 9 colour formats
  • Palettes & history
  • CSS / JSON / PNG export

PathPilot

Every path you actually use, one hotkey away

A menu-bar launcher for the places you keep digging for. Collect directories, files, links and shell commands into groups, then filter to the one you want and hit return. It opens, reveals in Finder, or runs. Your list is backed up automatically and exports to a single file.

  • Directories, files, links & commands
  • Instant search
  • Grouped shortcuts
  • Auto backups & export

v1.0.0 · macOS 14+ · 3.7 MB · Apple Silicon · Menu-bar app

Doer

Tasks for people who ship, not plan

Projects across the top, tasks underneath, and a global quick-add overlay for the thought you had mid-build. Set priority, due date, tags and an assignee, then get on with it. Deleted tasks rest in trash until you mean it, and everything backs up automatically.

  • Quick-add overlay
  • Projects & tags
  • Priorities & due dates
  • Team assignees

v1.0 · macOS 14+ · 3.6 MB · Apple Silicon · Local-first

DownPipe

A civilised front end for yt-dlp

Paste a link and DownPipe fetches the details, shows you the formats, and queues the download: one video, a whole playlist, or a batch of URLs at once. Browse and search without leaving the app, borrow cookies from your browser for anything gated, and keep a searchable history of everything you have pulled down.

  • Single, batch & playlist
  • MP4 or MP3 extract
  • Browser cookie support
  • Download history

v1.0 · macOS 13+ · 2.4 MB · Apple Silicon · Requires yt-dlp

MathPad

A notepad that does the arithmetic

Type calculations in plain lines and the answers appear beside them, updating as you edit. Name values and reuse them further down, keep a running total, and reach for the usual functions: sqrt, log, sin, round, min/max. Work is organised into sheets, so the kitchen renovation and the invoice maths stay apart.

  • Live results per line
  • Named variables & totals
  • Multiple sheets
  • Line numbers

v1.0.0 · macOS 13+ · 2.2 MB · Apple Silicon

02 Web Apps

DropDock

File storage and sharing, kept simple

A storage dashboard that shows where your space actually went. Upload by drag and drop, browse by type, share a file with a link, and watch the usage ring update as you go. React and Next.js on the front, Appwrite handling the database, storage buckets and auth, deployed on Vercel.

  • Drag & drop uploads
  • Appwrite backend
  • Usage dashboard
  • Accounts & sharing

React · Next.js · Appwrite · Tailwind · Vercel

Shrinkly is open source under the MIT licence and ships unsigned. On first launch, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. Web apps need nothing installed: open the live demo and try them.
