Privacy Policy
What information this site and my apps collect, why, and what happens to it. The honest answer: as little as possible.
Who I am
fahidjavid.com is the personal website of Fahid Javid, a software developer based in Lahore, Pakistan. Through this site I showcase my work and sell licences for my macOS apps. This policy explains what personal information is collected when you browse the site, purchase an app, or contact me, and how that information is handled.
Payments and order data
Purchases are processed by Paddle.com, the Merchant of Record for all orders. When you buy a licence, Paddle collects the details needed to complete the transaction: your name, email address, country, and payment details. I never see or store your card details. Paddle shares with me the order information needed to deliver and support your purchase: your name, email, the product bought, and the licence key issued. App licence activation
When you activate a licence, the app sends the licence key together with an anonymised device identifier to the licensing server. This exists for one reason: enforcing the 2-Mac activation limit. The identifier cannot be used to track your activity, and the apps do not collect analytics, usage data, or the contents of anything you work on.
Trials and downloads
Trial downloads do not require an email address or an account. Standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) appears in ordinary server logs when you download a file, as it does for any web request.
Support and contact
If you email me, I receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in the message. I use it to reply and to keep enough context to help you later, for example matching your licence to your order when you switch Macs.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not run advertising trackers and does not sell attention. It may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are visited, and standard cookies required for the site to function. You can block or clear cookies in your browser at any time without losing access to anything on this site.
How your information is shared
I do not sell or rent personal information, full stop. Data is shared only with the services that make this site work:
- Paddle, to process orders and payments as Merchant of Record.
- Hosting and email providers, which store the site and my correspondence.
Each of these providers operates under its own privacy policy, and I share only what each one needs to do its job.
Data retention
Order and licence records are kept for as long as needed to provide updates and support, maintain purchase history, and meet legal obligations. Support emails are kept so that returning customers do not have to re-explain their history. If you want something deleted, ask.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the EU, the UK, and several US states, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@fahidjavid.com and I will respond as the law requires, and usually much faster.
Children
This site and my apps are not directed at children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will be updated. Meaningful changes will be noted there rather than buried.
